Remember how cool it was when The Surfside IV played at Ignite Phoenix #5? Well, live entertainment is returning to Ignite! The Phoenix Art Museum will be graciously providing great local musicians to play at Ignite Phoenix #7. Which musicians? Well, that’s up to you!
From now through May 7th, members of the public can vote for their favorite band or solo artist who has participated in The Train Tracks live music program. The winner will entertain Ignite attendees before the event, during intermission and throughout the after party.
To view the bands and artists from which you can choose, visit The Train Tracks website at http://www.thetraintracks.org. When you’ve picked a favorite, come back to this page and submit a comment with the name of your choice. We’ll tally the votes after May 7th 14th and the winning group or solo artist will play when Ignite Phoenix #7 happens on June 11.
Support your favorite band and get your vote in!
UPDATE: Band voting has been extended for one more week. Voting will close at the end of Friday, May 14th. Get your votes in!

Kinch!
Dry River Yacht Club
It must be Andrew Jackson Jihad! Not only are they a talented duo but Sean is a hero in the community with his work with the homeless. While we were all sleeping last week, that guy was hitting the streets to find the Valley’s 50 most vulnerable homeless individuals as part of Project H3. Playing his guitar or working the streets – Sean rocks!
Miniature Tigers!
Michelle Blades! A great sound that everyone can enjoy.
Miniature Tigers moved to New York, but I second Kinch.
Andrew Jackson Jihad
I’ll throw my chapeau in with Kinch here
This is a tough choice! It’s a toss up between Nowhere Man, What Laura Says, Mikel and Meredith and Dry River….
Given that they blow me away EVERY time I see them, I’m going with….. Mikel Landers and Meredith Moore. Seriously amazing musicians.
Tobie Milford totally takes the cake. There is enough groove to move, and enough alternative musicality to tickle the indie-oriented palate.
Gospel Claws all the way!!! These guys are totally amazing.
Goin’ with Captain Squeegee…
The Haymarket Squares
THE BAD CACTUS BRASS BAND.
come on.
(although it wouldn’t suck to see Michelle Blades again.)
I’m with Ruthie… The Haymarket Squares
either them or Snakes Snakes Snakes!

I don’t have any SUPER strong feelings on this, but I sure did enjoy Michelle Blades.
Captain Squeegee. Yes!
HAYMARKET SQUARES
Kinch.
I cast my vote for Ramfoozle, whose bagpipe performance you can watch at the following link: http://www.thetraintracks.org/track.php?id=83
You might be thinking “Bagpipes? Seriously?” Yes, and here are four reasons why you should vote for them as well:
- The Art of Bagpipes is not a presentation topic; had I been raised in Scotland, this would not be a problem.
- The energy level from this group is remarkable. Imagine this group at the half time show. There is a half time show, right?
- Imagine bagpipes echoing and drum beats reverberating through the chambers of the Phoenix Art Museum. Epic? Nay, 2^epic
- Guitars are too pedestrian, celebrate diversity and soul inspiring music.
Join me and vote for Ramfoozle!

Kinch gets my vote…
